Christmas is in 7 days

Christmas is one week from today, if you still have shopping to do you may have to brave the crowds, today is pretty much the last day to order online and receive your package(s) by Christmas Eve, unless you use Amazon Prime on Amazon.com, or pay for "rush" shipping there or on other sites.

And remember to check out www.freeshippingday.com today, 12/18, over 900 retailers are offering FREE shipping on orders of any size that will be delivered by Christmas Eve!!

Hopefully you're down to just stocking stuffers, and those can be as easy and inexpensive to as elaborate and costly as you choose.  (One year my daughter's gifts were her stocking and over-flow gift bag below, all her gifts were small or compact.  Think makeup, gift cards, perfume, etc.)  Littles are happy with books, small toys, a cookie, coloring books and crayons, hats and gloves, etc.  As they get older they like small LEGO kits or other toys, candy, electronic accessories, cool hats, gloves and scarves.  Tweens and teens like jewelry, gift cards for anything from food to clothing to electronics.  And adults run the gamut from silly to serious goods.

I like wooden toys, like small cars or trucks, or plastic animals, I find them throughout the year at Target, but have found them at this time of year, in the $1 Spot section usually at the very front of the store.  Wal-Mart has a dollar section, too, more and more stores have them.  Joann's Craft & Fabric stores have a section you weave through to check out of the store, they're smart, they have you captive ;)  I've found candy, gloves, little games, books, sticker packs, stamps and stamp pads, small toys, notions, lip balms, gift bags and so much there.  Any store, really, should have small items you can use as stocking stuffers, from socks, gloves and hats to gift cards.  Just try not to find yourself in the same situation as my daughter and her mother-in-law at 3 am Christmas morning.  My grandson had just turned 1 in October, and MIL had gotten him a new stocking to replace "Baby's First" stocking.  She realized she had nothing to put in it, and panic ensued, lol, he was 1!  By 3:15 am they found themselves at 7-Eleven, buying cookies, small action figures, and other trinkets, and paying top dollar, sigh...so, if you haven't been accumulating stuffers check out $1 items.  You can buy gift cards for as little as a $1, too.  Little ones love them, and you can keep the card if it's cute, just tell the associate you want to before he or she tosses it in the register!
More ideas are...  Large wrapped cookies, which you can bake yourself or get at McDonald's or 7-Eleven.  A new toothbrush and toothpaste and floss.  A Slinky (my little guy just asked for one.)  Crayons, colored pencils or markers.  Books.  A DVD or CD.  Hat, scarf and/or gloves.  Lip balm, hand cream, nail polish.  Trading cards.  Candy, beef or turkey jerky.  Socks.  Jewelry.  Gift cards.  For babies, a onesie, teether or rattle.  Small toys, like LEGO minifigures in individual bags or puzzles.  Bubbles, sidewalk chalk, paint sets.  Whatever things they will like, personalize it to each person, have fun with it!!

Williams-Sonoma sale and FREE shipping!

Williams-Sonoma is a store I love to browse, but rarely buy, I can't justify paying high prices.  So when their fantastic sales appear, I pounce!!

Through today, Dec 8, they're offering FREE shipping on any amount order with code SAVENOW (I just got the email, sorry), AND, additional savings codes, the more you spend, the more the discount.

I always zero in on sale items, and today I found the Star Wars Rebel Alliance cupcake liners and toppers kit pictured for just $3.99, regularly $12.00.  (They also have the Galactic Empire Kit for the same price, too, I'm getting both for the full Star Wars effect.)  The kit decorates 24 cupcakes so I'll be able to decorate each cupcake for about $.18 each, including tax, a Godsend at keeping costs low for a party!  I don't know when we'll do a Star Wars-themed party, but since there's no perishable items in the kit, I can store it indefinitely.

There's many other items on sale, this just appealed to me, so do check the sale out here at http://www.williams-sonoma.com/?cm_type=gnav and who knows?  YOU just might find something you like!
